Academy of Professional Family Mediators Annual Conference

March 30, 2017 - April 2, 2017

The Academy of Professional Family Mediators’ 2017 conference will be wonderful, with presentations from the leading practitioners and trainers in the field of family mediation. The conference will take place in Memphis, Tennessee on March 30 – April 2, 2017.  This conference celebrates 36 Years of Professional Family Mediation (from the founding of the Academy of Family Mediators (AFM) in 1981 to 2017). Workshops include practice areas, styles of practice, advanced techniques, skill building, marketing, certification and other cutting edge issues of importance to professional family mediators. The conference will begin with Pre-Conference Institutes on Thursday, March 30, with full day programs starting at 9:30am and half-day programs starting at 9:30am and 1:30pm.  Thursday evening there will be a welcome reception at 6:00pm. The Conference will continue all day Friday and Saturday, and there will be a bonus role-playing session Sunday morning. Register online here.

Color Coding

All community events are shown on the calendar in blue, while all events that are for SCMA members only are shown on the calendar in yellow. This lets people see at a glance what type of event they are able to attend.

Narrow Your Results

At the top of the page there is a section that says “Narrow Your Results”.  This area has drop down menus with checkboxes next to each item. Go through each menu section and click any or all of the items that match what type of event you’re looking for. Then click the button that says “Submit” to view your filtered results on the calendar below.

Change Calendar View

On the top right side of the calendar there are two fields – one says ‘Events In” and has a field where you can select which month to view. Next to that is a field that says “View As”. The default setting is “month”, so you can view the events like a regular calendar. If you prefer, though, you can opt to view the events in a list instead. Or, click “map” to view a map that highlights where each event is located. Finally, you can view as “photo” to see all a list of the event titles and their associated images.
