Please join SCMA San Diego Professional Development Group for our next meeting on Tuesday, November 19 from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm. We’ll have an interesting panel discussion lead by Professor Ellen Waldman on ethical decision making in mediation. She will provide a substantial framework for understanding the tensions inherent in mediator’s ethical duties and will encourage a discussion, grounded in participant’s daily practice, about how to honor the professional norms while staying true to one’s ethical compass. 1 hour of ethics CLE credit will be offered.
About our Speaker: Professor Waldman founded and directs the Thomas Jefferson School of Law Mediation Program, where she has also been a full-time faculty member since 1992. She has taught mediation courses nationally and internationally and has published over 25 articles and book chapters in the areas of alternative dispute resolution and ethics. Most recently, she has published Mediation Ethics: Case and Commentaries, an in-depth treatment of the many hard cases that can arise in mediation practice.
