SCMA South Bay Professional Development Group Meeting

August 22, 2017 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

- Free

Dear Fellow SCMA Members –

I hope you have had some time to relax and refresh this summer, and if not, that you will have an opportunity to do so before summer is over.

Should you need a little break, please consider joining us at our SCMA South Bay PDG meeting next Tuesday, August 22, 2017, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.  We will return to our normal location at the Law Office of Curt Surls located at 1500 Rosecrans Avenue, Suite 500, Manhattan Beach, CA 90266.

Many thanks to past SCMA President, Mediator Nikki Tolt, for hosting our last two South Bay PDG meetings.  She has a lovely patio which was great for our summer meetings.  We look forward to visiting again in the future.

At our August 22nd meeting, we will discuss “Building Your Mediation/ADR Practice Through Government Contracting Opportunities.”  You also should feel free to bring any questions, scenarios, or other mediation-related topics that you would like to share with the group.  Also feel free to bring a snack for sharing.

We look forward to seeing you at our next meeting.  Please RSVP to me at or (213) 996-8474.

Color Coding

All community events are shown on the calendar in blue, while all events that are for SCMA members only are shown on the calendar in yellow. This lets people see at a glance what type of event they are able to attend.

Narrow Your Results

At the top of the page there is a section that says “Narrow Your Results”.  This area has drop down menus with checkboxes next to each item. Go through each menu section and click any or all of the items that match what type of event you’re looking for. Then click the button that says “Submit” to view your filtered results on the calendar below.

Change Calendar View

On the top right side of the calendar there are two fields – one says ‘Events In” and has a field where you can select which month to view. Next to that is a field that says “View As”. The default setting is “month”, so you can view the events like a regular calendar. If you prefer, though, you can opt to view the events in a list instead. Or, click “map” to view a map that highlights where each event is located. Finally, you can view as “photo” to see all a list of the event titles and their associated images.
