SCMA Listserv Policy

The purpose of the SCMA listserv is to provide an online forum for our members which facilitates information exchange and discussion among those interested in mediation and conflict resolution in Southern California. The listserv is designed to provide our members with the opportunity to solicit advice on issues relating to their mediation practices, seeking out resources, sharing mediation related articles and resources, and posting career opportunities.

The listserv is open to all current members of the SCMA organization. Any member who would prefer not to participate on the listserv may elect to opt-out.

LISTSERV GUIDELINES

We ask that those who post to the SCMA listserv remember to keep their posts related to mediation, peacemaking, and conflict resolution. While we encourage you to use this listserv to solicit advice from your colleagues, please note that communications through the SCMA listserv are in no way confidential.

Also, please note that when you reply to an e-mail, if you hit “Reply” it will go directly to the individual who sent the e-mail, and if you hit “Reply All” it will go to the entire listserv. While we encourage group discussion on substantive matters, please consider whether your reply is more appropriate as a direct communication to the sender, or if it is something that is valuable to the entire listserv. If possible, we encourage you to limit your response to the sender only.

If you are sending out a communication where you only want a response back to yourself, or it is a message that is not intended for community dialogue, you can direct the e-mail to yourself and then ‘bcc’ the listserv address. This method will avoid any potential reply to all issues.

The listserv is not intended for marketing any particular member’s: business, training they provide, or items that they may sell as part of their business. Members can always respond to a request from another member when the original request is seeking out some type of assistance, but the listserv is not intended for any general initiated marketing efforts.

Please remember that your email to the listserv will reach hundreds of people so please think of the value of your email before you press send.

TO CHANGE YOUR LISTSERV SETTINGS

The following is a list of actions you may take to adjust your listserv settings:

  • To unsubscribe, send an email to: SCMA-ListServ-off@mail-list.com

(this action will allow you to receive one daily e-mail summarizing all posts)
  • To get on/off vacation, send an email to: SCMA-ListServ-vacation@mail-list.com
  • To change your address, send an email to: SCMA-ListServ-change@mail-list.com
