SCMA’s 2018 30th Annual Fall Conference Was A Success!
On November 2-3, 2018, SCMA hosted its 30th Annual Fall Conference in Downtown Los Angeles. The theme of the conference was “Striving for Excellence: The Emergence of the Modern Mediator.” Almost 300 mediators, peacekeepers, educators, students and more attended the event. We brought together over 40 speakers to educate attendees on a wide variety of topics. Our conference continues to have broad reach drawing attendees from all over the U.S. and abroad.
The conference began with the Welcome Reception and Awards Dinner on Friday evening. Professor Lisa Klerman, Esq. accepted the 2018 L. Randolph Lowry Award and Karen Crowley-Marks accepted the Kids Managing Conflict 2018 Directors Award. We had a special appearance by the Honorable Candace Cooper who swore in our 2019 Board of Directors and 2019 SCMA President Angela Reddock-Wright, Esq. We also had the opportunity to honor and thank outgoing SCMA President Dr. Jack R. Goetz, Esq. and SCMA Immediate Past President Jason Harper.
