There are several reasons why I am running for a position on the Board of Directors for the Southern California Mediation Association. First and foremost, I am a very strong supporter and promoter of mediation, as many already know from the Professional Development Groups. As an experienced Commercial Mediator, I take great pride in the accomplishments of our profession and also acknowledge the need to expand awareness of what we do.
Through various non-profits I have made great strides in promoting our profession, however, it’s organizations like the SCMA that have the momentum and wherewithal to expand awareness of mediation and help mediators grow and improve their practices. I plan to reach out further to the public, attorneys, and other organizations, about the benefits of mediation and organizations such as the SCMA. I wish to continue working on those goals through the SCMA and its Board of Directors, which is why I ask for your support. The past and current leaders of the SCMA have laid the foundation and paved a wonderful path for others to follow. I plan on honoring those accomplishments by not only continuing their work, but also by expanding on what they have created. As a Board Member of the SCMA I can be even more effective in representing and supporting our mediation community.
