I have aspired to be a mediator for more than a decade, and I have been actively mediating for more than 5 years. With the support of my business Partner and the dedication of our team, I have been able to focus my practice on not only providing mediation services, but also representing both plaintiffs and insured defendants. Thus, I am very familiar with the interests that are in play for each “side,” allowing me to advance and develop both as an advocate and as a mediator. If elected to the SCMA Board of Directors, I will bring my diverse knowledge and experience to the decision-making table.
I am grateful to have had many mentors throughout my career who have provided me with sage advice and valuable guidance. I attribute much of my career to them. Having been mentored, and having also served as a mentor, I strongly value mentorship as a concept and as applied. Since earlier this year, I have had the privilege of Co-Chairing SCMA’s Mentorship Program. It has been a most rewarding experience to assist aspiring mediators to start their own mediation practices. My goal in participating in SCMA’s Mentorship Program has been to inspire and empower, provide access to information and experience, and to play a positive role in the advancement of others.
As an SCMA Board member, I want to continue my active involvement in the Mentorship Program, and I am motivated to also become involved in the Professional Development Groups, both as a participant and as part of the leadership team.
I continue to build my personal and professional lives based on positivity, diplomacy, peacemaking, and being of service to others. My participation and involvement as a Board member will be based on the same principles.
I hope that I can gain your vote, earn your trust, and serve our organization. Thank you in advance for your consideration.
