Scott Weiner, J.D., Ph.D. is a Clinical Psychologist and Attorney practicing and residing in San Diego’s North County.
First trained in Communications and Group Dynamics at the University of Minnesota, Dr. Weiner was an early instructor in the Minnesota Couples Communications Program. He consulted in corporate mediation and organizational development before pursuing graduate study. He earned his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at USIU in San Diego in 1984, and later took sabbatical to reach a life-long goal, completing law school at USC in 2002 with Moot Court Honors, and then being admitted to the California Bar.
Dr. Weiner takes a warm, kind, and fair minded approach in addressing disputes, imparting humor and drawing from broad perspective to help people through difficult times. Clarity, honesty, and foresight guide his work in dispute resolution. His clinical training and decades of experience provide deep familiarity with the resistant postures patients and litigants assume in high conflict situations.
In Dr. Weiner’s professional practice he provides individual and family psychotherapy, and regularly consults in child custody matters. He is a trained mediator and a member of the Collaborative Divorce specialty group in San Diego, and offers forensic support and communication consultation to organizations and allied professionals.
